Severn Lodge
No.5583
Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations. Its roots lie in the traditions and ceremonies of the medieval stonemasons who built our cathedrals and castles.
BUILDING TOGETHER
Enabling personal growth, building friendships and supporting communities, through timeless tradition.
Freemasonry offers the opportunity to engage with like-minded people from different backgrounds who you wouldn't usually meet.
Freemasons actively engage in charitable events and activities. They dedicate time, resources and skills to support communities by being part of something that makes a difference in the world.
It provides an opportunity to explore your potential through improved self-knowledge and confidence on an enduring foundation of ethical and moral virtues.
Those values, upheld by its members, offer a framework for making better choices in life and living a more fulfilling and purposful existence.

Freemasonry & How To Join
Freemasonry has a remarkable history dating back more than three centuries and is one of the world's oldest secular fraternities. We are a society of men concerned with upholding social and moral values and who believe in three great principles of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth and we aim to bring together men of goodwill, regardless of background and differences.
People might think that to become a Freemason is difficult. It is actually quite simple. The essential qualifications for admission is that you have a belief in a Supreme Being . . . we will explain more if you get in touch.
It is usual for candidates to be "mature men of 21 years and over", but in some circumstances candidates between the ages of 18 and 21 can be admitted.
If you are interested in finding out how to become a Freemason, please email severnlodge5583@gmail.com for details.A mythic past. A visionary future. A legendary brotherhood.
Freemasonry is the world's largest, oldest and best-known gentleman's fraternity. It is based on the medieval stonemason guilds who built the great castles and cathedrals of Europe. Modern Freemasons use the tools, traditions and terminology of those earlier stonemasons as allegories for building temples in the hearts of men. It's said that we are a secret society. We do indeed have secrets—secrets that each individual man has to discover for and about himself. At its core, Freemasonry is simply an attempt to make the world a better place, one man at a time. For that man, it can become as simple or as complicated as he himself desires. It's not for everybody. Maybe it's for you. "Brother Chris Hodapp's [blog]...is thought provoking and we would very much like to thank Bro. Chris for allowing us to post his blog on our website."
